2020 Holiday Gift Guide

Hello internet friends!

We both love giving gifts. If gifting was an Olympic sport, catch us on that winner's podium. But holiday shopping looks different this year, and it's not as simple as walking through a store and touching everything our sparkly little eyes light upon until something sings to us. With more shopping happening online this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, the race is on to get gifts picked out and ordered for our family & friends. Let us be clear: shopping and consumerism are the least important parts of the holiday season, but this year we're excited to send thoughtful surprises to those who we haven't been able to see in person since earlier this Spring. If that's something you're excited about too, then have we got the list for you! Welcome to our Christmas think tank.

Embarrassingly, we're online approximately 24/7, but in this case, that's actually a good thing. We've had plenty of time to scrounge up some unique gift ideas across different categories and price ranges.

[imagine us lovingly holding your face in our hands and making gentle eye contact for this next part]

If you are shopping online this holiday season without taking advantage of coupons and rebates you sweet, sweet summer child...welcome to our crash course. Our mom raised us to appreciate a good deal and ALWAYS hit the sale rack first. Now it is our turn to pass this knowledge onto you.

  1. Rakuten (Ebates): FREE. CASH. BACK. Rakuten works almost anywhere and is super simple to use. Just login to your account, select the online retailer you'll be shopping with, and click the link to the retailer's website from the Rakuten portal (this is how your purchase will be tied to your Rakuten account), and you're golden. Once you complete your purchase, the cash back will be added to your Rakuten account, and they'll cut you a check every 3 months. It's like getting a tax refund 4 times a year. If you use our link to set up an account, you'll get $40 cash back added to your account after making your first $40 purchase. (not sponsored, just passionate about the #dealz)

  1. Honey: Honey is a free browser extension that immediately searches for and adds coupon codes to your online carts. Just download the extension and start saving! Easy peasy.

  1. Cash Back Credit Cards: Don't forget to use your cash back credit cards when making online purchases! It's a great way to pick up some extra change here and there. We've liked the Discover It cash back card, but there are tons of cards out there to choose from, if that's your cup of tea.

Without further ado, we present the First Annual Artsy Affirmations Gift Guide!

Bindle Bottle: 20 oz Slim / 24 oz

The Bindle Bottle is, quite honestly, a must have for anyone who frequents the beach and park. With a stainless steel body and secret compartment for keys & cards, this gift is perfect for your high-adventure friends. We got sent a Bindle Bottle to review and honestly, genuinely, truly, I'm so sad I didn't make the switch to this bottle sooner. As a bonus, my ice was still cold over 24 hours later.

Positive Statement Co Clay Earring Kit

Our friend Hope (@positivestatementco) designs the classiest clay earrings, and has put together a kit with supplies and all the tips and tricks you would need to make your own earrings. We think making clay earrings will be the baking banana bread of the second wave of the pandemic, so this kit would be a gift that keeps giving.

Beachwaver Reparative Hair Kit

The brief moment of joy you get when you catch a whiff of your amazing-smelling hair? That’s the kind of excitement you can give with this beachwaver shampoo, conditioner, and strengthening mousse kit. Plus, it makes hair silky smooth, and is sulfate, paraben, and cruelty free. We were sent this product to try out before adding it to the guide, and it has honestly done wonders for our hair. Hot boys welcome to come over and feel the difference.

Verma Farms CBD Gummies

Have a friend in your life who just won’t chill? (Me, I’m that friend). Gift these CBD infused gummies for a present that’s sure to be a hit. We were sent the Island Apple to try (delicious, as suspected), but Verma Farms also has other fun flavors like rainbow ropes and peach rings. As a refresher, CBD comes from the hemp flower (different from marijuana) and doesn’t contain THC, so it won’t give your mother-in-law a high. It’s also non-habit forming and non-toxic, so you can feel safe knowing you’re helping your body and mind without negative side effects.

Beachwaver Silk Hair Scrunchies

Ladies, prepare for scrunchies like you've never seen before. These silk scrunchies are a must for your hair-obsessed friends (or really just any friend with hair..). Perfect, gentle scrunchies that don't crease your hair when you take them out!

Casper Pillow: Original / Foam

This one’s for everyone on your list who hasn’t had a good night’s rest in ages. A pillow is something people don’t often like to splurge on, but would make an awesome gift. Casper pillows are soft, supportive, and machine washable. Fancy without being fussy? Can’t go wrong with that.

Old Navy Thermal Pajamas

I want to shout my love of these pajamas from the rooftops. It’s a real “...just one more pair” situation. The pattern combinations are endless, and the comfort level is top notch. (Not that it matters, but they also seem to have semi-magical properties to make one’s butt look good, but you didn’t hear it from me) If I unwrapped another pair of these on Christmas, I might just shed a single dramatic tear.

These slippers mean the world to me. They’re microwaveable, so all your warm-toed Christmas movie-filled dreams can come true in 1:30 (or less if you have, like, one of those super powerful microwaves). They sell out super quickly but I have high hopes for snagging a new pair on Black Friday.

Take Time to Recharge Enamel Pin

Everything Liz creates is my new favorite thing and this pin is no different. I put pins on everything (my backpack, my jean jacket, my belly button), and this one would brighten up any one of those places.
